Youth Group and Weather Conditions

Good afternoon,

I realize that I haven't updated this blog as often as I would like, or even as often as I intend to, so my apologies for those who check it on a regular basis and are disappointed.

This afternoon, I received a phone call from one of my leaders who, due to the nature of her work, has come in contact with a number of parents who have questions about whether or not we will have youth group due to the slippery roads.

I am currently monitoring weather conditions and the news, and will make a decision at 5:00.

Hi everyone!

While originally we were going to cancel youth Friday night due to a lack of leaders, we will be going forward, as there are some folks in the church who have had the protection policy training who will be helping out.

Since we didn't have a whole lot of turnout last week, we will be doing youth group all night long this coming Friday (tomorrow). We've talked to many of you in person already, so here's just a little reminder and some further details.

Both groups will meet at the church at 6:30 for supper. Come prepared to eat spaghetti! Following that, we will be focusing on relationships with our special guests, Stewart and Nancy Tower. After that, you're welcome to hang out all night long, although we would ask that you bring a sleeping bag and pillow.

Pickup in the morning will be at 7:30.

Upcoming Events Over the Coming Week

For anyone who wasn't at youth group last Friday night:

This coming Friday, we will be attending a special Sunday Night Live (on Friday night) at Brunswick Street Baptist. We will be leaving the church at as close to 5:45 as possible.

May 7-8 is Springforth. As I mentioned, if you want the $40 rate, I will have to register you by Friday.

Superiour Bowl Postponed

Dear parents,

I write this from my temporary field HQ in Moncton where I am currently trapped by the weather system which seems to be crippling transport in the Maritime region. I came down to pick up my parents' van to help transport kids and ended up not being able to get back.

We will be holding the event in one week's time on Friday, February 5th - Saturday, Feb. 6th.

Christmas Holiday Happenings

Dear Youth and Parents,

Hopefully this new blog will be useful to you in the future, as it will allow me to provide instant updates which you can check at your leisure. This blog is for information purposes only, due to the public nature of the forum, no pictures of youth or names of youth will be released.

Coming up this Christmas season, there are 2 regular youth nights remaining:

Friday, December 4 and Friday, December 11- The younger group will meet at the church at 6:30-8:00, the older group from 8:00-9:30.

Friday, December 18, we will be having a combined Christmas party at the church at 7:00 for both groups. I will be sending home (and posting on the blog) any information that you will need for the party at youth group on December 4.

Sunday, December 6, would ordinarily be Sunday Night Live, but this month, we are having our church Sunday School Christmas concert. As a number of our students are involved, we will be remaining in Oromocto. However, if anyone wants to go to SNL on their own, it is being held at Faith Baptist Church.
